I am a self taught mixed media artist.  I incorporate my love of fabric, threads, beads, jewelry, paper and wire to create my work.

My fabric collage pieces are a combination of quilting, applique, and embroidery.  Somewhere in there I add other items to give dimension, movement, glitter, etc...

My Buttonheads are taken from my childhood memories of paper dolls, McCalls patterns and a recent find of magazines from the '50's.  I have juxtaposed that against current day fashion magazines and their views of women and fashion.  These irreverent collages are so fun to create.  Each takes on a personality and voice so that whatever (if any) words appear they come directly from the 'fashionista' that is featured.

While I am still living and working in Elmira, NY, my studio recently moved back into my home.  A big change!  I am still very active in many area art organizations including The Elmira Open Studio Tour which happens every October. Go to the links page for more information on this event.

I enjoy watching people as they view my work.  While my subjects have always been woman, it seems that the work is appealing and equally humorous to men and women alike.  I feel most accomplished when someone spontaneously announces "that's so me!!".  I truly believe we all have inner fashionistas with very distinct notions on things -- I know I do!
